Even though we were staying near Alaçatı, we made the trip to Urla for lunch and it was absolutely worth it. The setting is beautiful, with tables nestled among the olive trees, making for a relaxing and memorable dining experience. We chose the four-course menu, where you select your own dishes. Before each course, the chefs personally introduce the dish, explaining how it’s prepared and highlighting ingredients sourced directly from their farm. My favourite dish was the octopus, while my husband’s was the morel mushrooms. Everything was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. A wonderful spot for a long, leisurely lunch date.
We had a very pleasant experience at OD Urla. The food was amazing, we went for the prix fixe option and every dish tasted wonderful, making it deserving of a Michelin star in this regard. The outdoor sitting area under olive trees is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful patios I’ve seen in a restaurant. Quite a big scale restaurant though - felt a bit like a factory with not much personalization compared to other Michelin-guided restaurants we tried in Urla.
We have the 4 set menu. To be honest all good! Which is surprising me the first one is the bread before meal which is warm, hot from the oven and soft inside and crisp outside! With the cream it’s sooooo good! The second one I think is the octopus 🐙 which has the aroma of charcoal-grilled meat, recommend! The peach 🍑 dessert is another surprise which combines different levels of flavors soooo good! All the other dishes are nice! Just there is flies inside the restaurant which is annoying. Their garden has a lot vegetables which I think some of their dishes are using them directly from the garden. All good!
Ever pay tons of money at a Michelin star restaurant and get exceptional service and food that’s out of this world? If so, don’t waste your money at this restaurant. We took a couple out for their anniversary. First off this place is killing it on the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful. But the food is okay. Out of all the dishes we had in our tasting menu sadly only a small few stood out. Which at a Michelin star should be all. One person in our party has dietary restrictions and had a special printed out tasting menu. Nice touch. But not everything on the menu was given to them. So why print it out? Chefs came out to explain most of the dishes. Liked that. But some were not explained. Just simply left at the table. So these were left to our imagination as to what was actually given to us. Also someone is our party found a small stone in their food. Showed the waiter and they did nothing about it. Instead he kept bringing extra add ons for us to pay for. Sadly we should have picked a different restaurant for an important celebration like this. Didn’t get the service and food we were expecting from a Michelin star restaurant.
We came with our expectation already very high. But they were over met by how good the food tasted. Not only the food, but the fact that they grow every single herb they use in their food is grown in the garden. The restaurant was greatly maintained, clean and easily accessible with a wheelchair. I think OD Urla easily is the best restaurant I’ve been to and definitely deserves a Michelin star. I also loved that it was very quiet and pet friendly. If you ever have the chance to visit this place, then do!
